Regensburg is a town which has more attractions to offer within its surroundings than hardly any other town in Germany. In the city there are over 1,400 protected monuments, including nearly 1,000 in the Old Town. If you want to see Roman Structures, Regensburg is the place!
There are dozens of examples of; Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque, Rococo, Classical structures and influences, etc.. Visit the largest cathedral in southern Germany, and admire the world-famous, 800 year old stone bridge.
And the best part: everything is within walking distance. You need no car to cruise through the historical streets of Regensburg! You can spend whole days in the historic medieval town just to stroll and explore the most beautiful courtyards and parks. Car traffic will usually not interfere with your enjoyment, because the city has taken large traffic reducing measures.
We recommend you first take a tour accenting the beauties of the city, and to gain a better knowledge of the city itself.
